The Global Autism Interactive Network (GAIN) is a professional development program designed to improve proficiency on the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2nd Edition) the gold-standard autism diagnostic test, while creating with a network of fellow ADOS-2 implementers.
The purpose of this workshop is to help clinicians understand how social communication abnormalities, restricted and repetitive behaviors, and developmental histories of children with ASD may be similar or different compared to children with other diagnoses (e.g., intellectual disability, language disorder, genetic syndromes) who commonly present for ASD evaluation in early childhood. The workshop will also discuss the uses and limitations of currently available ASD assessment tools, including sensitivity and specificity when used in different subgroups of young children.
We will present recent research, including studies detailing the use of specific diagnostic instruments in particular populations, as well as clinical case examples and video clips about diagnostically differentiating behaviors.
The target audience for this workshop is clinicians and researchers involved in the diagnostic assessment of autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

GAIN is a virtual, live training webinar hosted by preeminent national ADOS-2 trainers. The purpose of the Module 2 series is to review ADOS-2 administration and scoring of Module 2 in depth. Upon completion of each module series GAIN participants should be able to describe the administration and intent/purpose of the tasks in the module discussed in the webinar, describe the meaning of the specific codes on the Module 2 discussed in the webinar, and evaluate their and others’ administration of the ADOS-2 Module 2 presented in the webinar.
The target audience for this workshop is introductory, intermediate and advanced clinicians and researchers involved in the diagnostic assessment of autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
Sponsored by the Academy for Behavioral Health and Continuing Education
