GAIN ADOS-2 Module Calibration Series

The GAIN Module Calibration Series provides professional development for ADOS-2 proficiency and community building among implementers, hosting virtual workshops led by prominent international ADOS-2 trainers, including:

  • Review of administration guidelines

  • Analysis of participant scoring data

  • In-depth question and answer sessions

  • Review of pertinent research findings

How does the GAIN Calibration Series work?

Watch : Do : Share - Discuss & Didactic

The GAIN series provides reviews of the individual ADOS-2 Modules on a 3-month schedule (January to March, April to June, July to September, and October to December). Each module is given an intensive review by sharing two videos of the module being administered to individuals, opportunities to score the administration by attendees (Watch : Do : Share), followed by discussions of the administration, scoring and relevant research (Discuss & Didactic).

Illustration showing the 3-month GAIN Calibration Series by month. Month 1: Watch an ADOS video, Do - code the ADOS, Share codes with trainers via REDCap and attend the monthly webinar to calibrate. Month 2: Watch another ADOS and repeat the sequence of the first month. Month 3: Discuss through an interactive Q & A webinar, and didactic on relevant research in ASD.

On the first month of the series, attendees are given access to a video of the administration of an ADOS-2 module early in the month, and the opportunity to submit their own scores for the administration, as well as written comments and questions. At the end of the first month, attendees participate in an hour-and-a-half webinar discussing the video. The second month of the series is the same as the first month. The final month of the series is a webinar with additional discussion about ADOS administration and coding, and sharing relevant clinical research.
